The Cheikh Anta Diop University Medical School, Physiology and Functional Explorations Laboratory, seeks a Fulbright Specialist to enhance the program's curriculum focusing on patients across the African diaspora. The selected Specialist will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between professionals and students in Senegal and the United States. Primary Responsibilities: • Deliver comprehensive lectures emphasizing the significance of trauma-informed care in influencing health and life outcomes among diverse populations in the African diaspora. • Offer expertise on various types of trauma and effective strategies for their management within these communities. • Conduct engaging lectures on narrative medicine and fostering patient engagement, specifically addressing the healthcare experiences of the African diaspora. • Coordinate and lead seminars and workshops dedicated to these thematic areas for both students and faculty members, aimed at fostering collaboration and understanding between professionals and students in Senegal and the U.S. Requirements: • A PhD or equivalent qualification in Medicine, Public Health, or a related field. • Demonstrated proficiency in teaching and proven experience in curriculum development. • Profound understanding of trauma-informed care and its implications on health outcomes within the African diaspora. • Expertise in narrative medicine and practices fostering patient engagement within diverse cultural contexts.
